Who We Represent
Attorneys at the firm have represented developers and lenders, as well as investors in, and users of, commercial and residential properties, including office buildings, shopping centers and other retail projects, industrial and manufacturing properties, hotels, and residential developments involving multifamily and condominium properties, single family residential communities, assisted-living and senior (55+) retirement communities, as well as other mixed use communities. Our clients also include developers, large retail and petroleum companies, and financial institutions and other lenders involved in the development, financing, and ownership of real estate. We also represent entities developing urban mixed-use projects, shopping and retail centers, as well as developers of affordable and multifamily housing throughout the region.

Our attorneys are adept at tailoring their services to the needs of large and small clients, including: developers; nonprofit organizations, public development and finance agencies; buyers and sellers of commercial and residential real estate; banks and other institutional lenders; borrowers; landlords and tenants of commercial real estate; and, contractors and engineers.

Services Provided
The real estate development environment is becoming increasingly more complex and regulated. Successful developers of major public or private projects must manage a multitude of issues and processes that effect the planning, timing, financing, construction and operation of any project. Services provided by our attorneys include working with our clients on entity formation and structuring; negotiating property acquisitions and dispositions including land assembly; due diligence review in conjunction with other members of the project team; obtaining land use, rezoning, subdivision, environmental, and other project approvals for both new construction and the rehabilitation of existing facilities; negotiating and drafting construction and project management contracts; negotiating loan and other financing commitments and related loan documentation; securing and negotiating construction and permanent debt financing and refinancing; structuring equity participations; leasing; and the negotiation and closing on the disposition of completed projects.

To assist our clients with certain innovative high-profile development projects, members of the firm periodically seek assistance on matters concerning legislative or executive decision-making at the local, state, and federal levels, including drafting legislation or regulations. We also actively serve in leadership roles on national and state organizations involved in real estate, and regularly meet with key policymakers in order to help shape policy on real estate, environmental and land use matters.
